Dr. Julie I. Thwing, medical epidemiologist with the CDC Malaria Branch, discusses her career, including her role in CDC's 2014-16 Ebola response. Dr. Thwing was the only CDC staff member stationed permanently in Senegal when an Ebola case was confirmed in-country. She helped facilitate the work of deployers from CDC and engaged with CDC's Senegalese and international partners.
